Sheila is a compassionate and experienced Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) with over a decade of expertise in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Her journey in supporting children and families began as a preschool teacher, where she worked with children of all ages, from infants to school-aged learners. Inspired by observing the transformative work of a behavior therapist, Sheila discovered her true calling and pursued a career in ABA.
Sheila earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Florida International University in 2014, completing the ABA course sequence as part of her studies. Since then, she has worked extensively with children and teens on the autism spectrum and those with other developmental disabilities across diverse settings, including clinics, homes, and schools. Sheila specializes in reducing maladaptive behaviors and teaching adaptive skills that empower individuals to lead more independent and fulfilling lives.
A strong advocate for collaboration, Sheila has partnered with parents to equip them with effective tools to support their child’s progress and worked closely with educators to implement evidence-based strategies in classrooms. Her approach centers on understanding each individual’s unique needs and creating environments where success is possible.
In 2018, Sheila earned her Master’s Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from the University of South Florida and became a BCBA shortly thereafter. Committed to making ABA accessible and understood, Sheila is passionate about educating others on evidence-based practices while ensuring families feel supported and valued throughout their journey.
Currently, Sheila is pursuing her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology at Albizu University in Miami, FL. She aims to integrate her expertise in behavior analysis with a deep understanding of mental health to provide holistic and impactful support to clients and their families. With an unwavering commitment to lifelong learning and growth, Sheila strives to bring her knowledge and dedication to as many individuals and families as possible.
